Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate (SLES) 70% is a synthetic soap and anionic surfactant with many uses, including:
- Cleaning products: SLES 70% is used in soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, hand wash, body washes, and laundry detergents.Â
- Personal care products: SLES 70% is used in hair care products, makeup products, and dental care products.Â
- Textile industry: SLES 70% is used in the dyeing and printing stages, and has a whitening property to prevent stains from clothes.Â
- Petroleum and leather work: SLES 70% is used as a lubricant in the oil and leather industries.Â
- Construction: SLES 70% is used in construction.Â
SLES 70% is a viscous paste that can be colorless to pale yellow in color.
It is made by combining a fatty alcohol, such as coconut or palm oil, with ethylene oxide and then sulfonating it.Â
