Xylene Cyanol FF 10g

Xylene cyanol can be used as an electrophoretic color marker, or tracking dye, to monitor the process of agarose gel electrophoresis and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Bromophenol blue and orange G can also be used for this purpose.

Description

Xylene cyanol is often used as a tracking dye during agarose or polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. It has a slight negative charge and will migrate the same direction as DNA, allowing the user to monitor the progress of molecules moving through the gel.
